About Us

Our Vision

At the Performance Psychophysiology Lab, we investigate how physiological, emotional, and cognitive processes interact to shape human performance.

Focusing on heart rate variability (HRV), emotion regulation, and stress resilience, we aim to translate fundamental research into practical insights that enhance performance, recovery, and well-being.

At the Performance Psychophysiology Lab, our mission is to advance the scientific understanding of human performance by investigating the dynamic interplay between physiological, psychological, and emotional processes.

Guided by a rigorous, interdisciplinary approach, we focus on core topics such as heart rate variability (HRV), emotion regulation, stress resilience, and performance optimization.

Our vision is to translate fundamental insights into practical applications that enhance performance, recovery, and well-being across sport, music, and high-pressure professional contexts.

By integrating psychophysiology with performance psychology, we aim to uncover how mind and body interact, and how these interactions can be harnessed to support adaptive, resilient, and high-functioning individuals.

Dr. Sylvain Laborde

Led by Dr. Sylvain Laborde, our lab brings together a multidisciplinary team to investigate how physiological, emotional, and cognitive processes interact to shape human performance.

Collaborations

The Performance Psychophysiology Lab actively collaborates with leading research groups and institutions worldwide to advance the understanding of human performance.

Our network includes partners across Europe and beyond, fostering interdisciplinary exchange and innovative projects in psychophysiology, emotion regulation, and performance science.

Key collaborators include Prof. Emma Mosley and Prof. Fabrice Dosseville, among others, whose expertise in applied performance and psychophysiology enriches our research and promotes global scientific dialogue.

Through these collaborations, we aim to integrate diverse perspectives, share methodologies, and translate findings into practical applications that support optimal performance and well-being.
