Benjamin Petter

Benjamin Petter is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Cognitive Affective Neuroscience and working as an intern at the lab of Sylvain Laborde at the German Sport University Cologne, where he is conducting his Master's thesis. His work focuses on comparing different breathing techniques, such as 4-7-8 breathing, box breathing, and paced breathing (4/6, 5/5), and examining their effects on heart rate variability (HRV) and end-tidal CO₂ (PETCO₂) — with a particular interest in how these effects are moderated by trait mindfulness. More broadly, he is interested in understanding how practices commonly used in yoga and meditation can support stress regulation, health, and overall well-being, reflecting his general goal of studying how people can live healthier and more fulfilling lives.
