Marko Jackovič

Marko Jackovič is a sport psychology researcher based in Cologne, Germany. He graduated from B.A. Sport Studies at Hanze University of Applied Sciences Groningen, Netherlands. He is currently completing the M.Sc. Psychology in Sport and Exercise programme at the German Sport University Cologne, where he previously worked as a research intern at the Department of Performance Psychology. His academic interests focus on psychophysiology, autonomic nervous system functioning, and cognitive performance in sport and performance settings.

Since February 2025, Marko has been involved as one of the original researchers developing The Cologne HRV Test Battery, a large-scale research project designed to establish a standardized assessment framework for cardiac vagal regulation across physiological and cognitive challenges. Within this project, he contributed to the conceptual development of the battery, protocol preparation, and integration of psychophysiological testing procedures.

His Master's thesis investigates the relationship between resilience, autonomic flexibility, and inhibitory control, combining psychological and physiological measures of self-regulation through heart rate variability (HRV) analysis and cognitive performance testing.

Alongside his research work, Marko draws on his practical experience in sport settings to connect experimental findings with applied performance psychology and coaching
