Alexandra Fischer

B. Sc. Sport and Performance

Alexandra Fischer is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Sport Science at the German Sport University Cologne (Deutsche Sporthochschule Köln, DSHS), which she is expected to finish in September 2027. There she focuses on the intersection of performance, psychology, and training science.

From an early age, she has been actively involved in competitive swimming and later began coaching younger swimmers herself. Through these experiences, she developed a strong interest in exercise and training science, as well as in the psychological factors that influence performance.

During her internship, she hopes to deepen her understanding of psychophysiology, with a particular focus on the interplay between cognitive and emotional processes and physiological regulation. Within this field, she is particularly interested in developing her competence in scientific research and exploring the role of heart rate variability (HRV) in stress regulation and performance enhancement.

In the long term, she aims to develop a strong scientific and practical expertise in psychophysiology and its application to human performance. She would like to apply this knowledge in further research and to the development of evidence-based approaches that support individuals in managing stress, optimizing performance, and maintaining long-term  well-being.
