Violette Markey

Violette Markey is a Master's student in Psychology, specializing in Neuropsychology, at the University of Mons in Belgium. She is particularly interested in the links between cognition, emotion, physiology, and behavior.
After completing her Master's degree with a clinical focus, she decided to further develop her interest in research. Her Master's thesis investigated whether slow and deep breathing, through its effects on heart rate variability (HRV), could influence cognitive performance in individuals with and without subjective cognitive decline. She based her research on several previous studies from the HRV LABorde Performance team.
Joining the team allows her to deepen the topics explored in her research and participate in various laboratory activities, including proofreading a book soon to be published, contributing to the French translation of the HRV book, managing social and professional networks and attending scientific conferences. She warmly thanks the team for its welcoming environment and particularly appreciates its dynamism. This experience is also a great opportunity to further develop her research skills and improve her English.
